This year marks a milestone at Christ's Church Harwood as we celebrate a decade since the installation of three stained glass panels. Today we have been back to visit the church to perform some maintenance on the windows; quite literally blowing away the cobwebs. We removed the polycarbonate protection, thoroughly cleaned both the covering and the stained glass before reinstalling the protective sheets. As you can see from the images the windows look as good as new!
The stained glass was originally created in honour of the 175th anniversary of the church, by our most experienced craftsperson; Benj, who you can see cleaning the windows today in our pictures. The brightly coloured window in the Lomax Chapel, designed by Andrew, features an abstract design with orange flames and depicts the outpouring of the spirit, to symbolise the Bible verse ‘I will pour out my spirit on all people.’ The church is planning a special service to commemorate this ten-year milestone, and our stained glass is ready to shine as brilliantly as ever!
