Take a look at one of our latest completed projects. We were contacted by our customer with a view to making a replica of some existing stained glass. The original panel was a feature of our customer’s childhood home, and so they decided they wanted to take this piece of family history with them and replace like for like.
This stained glass window incorporates some intricate painted pieces as part of a shield motif. So in order to create a replica, we needed to create some identical painted pieces. Glass painting is truly a painstaking art that requires a lot of patience, especially when attempting to replicate an existing piece, but of course we happily accepted this challenge! If you take a look at our photos, you can see that the painting is done in layers, with kiln firing in between, and is done over a period of days. It is quite a feat to ‘clone’ an example of glass painting, but we really think our talented craftspeople, Tamsin and Katie, have nailed it.
