Traditional Stained Glass Meets Modern Efficiency

At our workshop, we love combining the timeless beauty of traditional stained glass with the benefits of modern technology. Recently, we had the privilege of doing just that in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, where we transformed a stunning bay window and the front and back doors of a charming period home. Our project involved carefully restoring, cleaning, and encapsulating the original stained glass panels into triple-glazed units. This technique is one of our specialities and offers the best of both worlds: retaining the unique character of stained glass while significantly improving insulation.

What Makes This Process Unique?
For this home, the encapsulated units were retrofitted into timber frames. To secure them in place, we used Tricoya face beading—a sustainable reprocessed timber material with a 50-year anti-rot guarantee. This approach ensures durability and environmental responsibility without compromising the aesthetic.

Our goal is to seamlessly reinstate the original design while discreetly upgrading the functionality. The result?
