Stained Glass Restoration & Encapsulation and New Stained Glass / July 2018
The customer wanted a new stained glass panel installing into her new front door. We designed and made the panel in keeping with the original panels using glass of similar colours and textures. We also restored and encapsulated the existing stained glass panels surrounding the door inside of double glazed units. We worked with Shaun from SK Joinery on this job, who made and fitted the new front door and fitted the encapsulated units.

"The Stained Glass Company are second to none, Andrew replied promptly to my messages and calls and we arranged a day to come and remove several old stained glass window panes to take away for encapsulation.  They temporarily glazed the windows in the meantime.  They replaced broken and cracked parts of the stained glass and cleaned up all the glass and lead before encapsulating.

I’m so glad I did so as the result is stunning and has ensured the period features are there for years to come.  The sound and warmth difference is much improved. 

The workmen who carried out installation were thorough, clean and tidy and left it bearly noticeable as they had undercoated all the wood back to white ready for a re glossing when we are ready to do so.

We will be using Andrew and team again and would highly recommend them."

This panel was made to celebrate Manchester City F.C winning the Premier League in the 2017/18 season. A giveaway was put up on our Facebook page to give this panel away to one lucky winner. A lady contacted us to purchase one as a present for her husband, here's what she had to say when it arrived:

A big Manchester City fan came to us after seeing our Man City Premier League Champions roundel. The customer wanted a similar Manchester bee design with the Man City blue and white boarders to go into the top panels of their back conservatory.

A happy customer has sent through a photo today of her beautiful panel restored, cleaned and encapsulated by ourselves and fitted into a new uPVC frame by our friends at Northern Glass.

New stained Glass / April 2018
This beautiful stained glass panel was given as a wedding gift for a couple in Bolton

The panel incorporates a hand painted bee and Tiffany style opalescent glass surrounding the centre piece. The panel was designed to the customers vision and made in the traditional way using hand cut textured glass and joined using lead cames. The newly weds names and wedding date were etched onto the border as a memento of their special day. The panel was encapsulated inside of a double glazed unit and fitted into a new uPVC frame.

After much thought and preparation this wonderful memorial window has finally been fitted today for a customer in Oldham. The English meadow design features Spring flowers, lambs and a lovely blue sky.

The customer commissioned us to design and make the stained glass panel in memory of her parents. We think the window looks beautiful and we are honoured to have had the opportunity to create a wonderful tribute, which will last for many years.

New Stained Glass Incorporating An Old Leaded Light / February 2018

"Our 100-year-old, plain frosted, landing window was the last single-glazed one in our house and overdue for replacement. We also had a small section of stained leaded glass of sentimental value. When we found that we could get stained glass encapsulated in a double-glazed unit, we contacted SLGC, asking if our piece could be incorporated in a larger design for a complete pane.
We sent off our old section and gave Andrew the exact external size of the uPVC unit as required, with an idea of the look we were going for. SLGC produced their own design for our approval, with options to choose glass to our taste. We were delighted with the simple elegance of the design and confirmed the order. Email communications were easy and friendly. Payment by bank transfer was quick and convenient.
We collected it ourselves, and it was fascinating to see some of their other pieces awaiting repair or delivery, from minor renovation to large, original designs. Our own was encapsulated in quality Pilkington-K glass, in a strong, well-made frame, making it easy to handle.
It is now installed, and looks wonderful, and really suits the character of the house; our stairwell is transformed!
If I could give six stars, I would. Andrew and his company went more than the extra mile for us."

French painted stained glass restoration / March 2017
We releaded and reconstructed the old panels, before setting into new wooden display frames. We also repainted a missing piece, this was done in the traditional way using ceramic glass paints, enamels and stains then fired in the kiln.

'After months of searching for someone who could repair my stained glass window I found Andrew and his amazing team.

I sent my very very shabby broken and dirty window down to him, which was really easy to do as Andrew arranged everything.

The team at stained leaded glass have obviously worked so hard repairing my window, it is perfect. I never thought it would looks so great but it does.

It is clean, repaired and looks amazing. And encased in a double glazed panel to preserve it for another 100 years.
Can not thanks you guys enough it really is a brilliant job.

Very sorry not to been in touch much sooner to thank you again for the window, and to thank you and Beth for coming to the service.  I can't tell you how much it's all been appreciated.
 
As you may remember, the promised photographer did not materialise, but on Monday I had a call from Samantha Lewis at the paper apologising and asking to re-arrange.   
I gave the paper your details in the hope they might use them or pass them to the press in Bolton, but I'm afraid there's no reference to you, regrettably.  But I thought you'd like to see it.  It's at the link below.  It's also going into the Methodist Recorder, so I'll let you know about that in due course.

I wanted to write on behalf of Cheadle Hulme School to say a huge thank you for your wonderful work on our stained glass windows.
 
From start to finish you and your team have been a joy to work with and the standard of craftmanship has been superb. The atrium area has been transformed by the installation of the Honours Boards and back lit stained glass windows. You have taken a precious piece of our heritage and given it new life and I know that everyone who walks through this area is going to be hugely impressed. The Dining Hall looks so much better for your repair work on the stained glass windows there too. Thank you. 
 
It is also great to have a pictorial record of the restoration process for our archives and for sharing with the whole of our school community, which I am going to do through our website and school magazine in the coming weeks. Thank you for your thoughtfulness in doing this.
