St Luke's CE Primary School, Heywood
May, 2014
In April 2014 Artist Andrew Seddon worked in St Luke's School to run a stained glass project. He worked with every class in the school from Reception class through to year 6. Every child made their own stained glass craft window and helped to design the new window from the main entrance to the school. Theme chose was The Creation with each class working on ideas for a different day of the Creation. The finished window used the children's drawings to make the design.
Here is some feedback from the Head Teacher Mr Bentham:
"Our stained glass project fired our pupils' imaginations and created a real excitement about the new centre piece for our school. The project was expertly delivered with the feedback from all the staff being extremely positive. Andrew and his team took the children's ideas and interpreted them perfectly. It engaged all of our children in reflecting the school's central ethos and stands a lasting statement and commitment to what we stand for as a school."
