We specialise in school art projects and have worked in many schools each year, both primary and secondary. Over the years we have been very busy helping schools with year 6 leavers' projects and experiences, celebrating special events and the opening of new schools. We work in schools all over the country with recent projects based in schools in Cheshire, Surrey, Derbyshire, Merseyside, The Midlands and Greater Manchester.
We offer various services depending on the need of the school, below are the 3 options we tend to provide:
1) The school runs a competition with the children to design the new stained glass window, we then develop and finalise the winning design(s) and make the stained glass window based on this.
2) The school already has a design idea for the new stained glass window, we then design and make the window based on this vision.
3) We deliver a stained glass art project at the school with the children. This includes a talk/tutorial about the process of making stained glass and the opportunity for the children to get hands on and make their own small window using coloured film. We will ask the school to provide design ideas drawn by the pupils, we will then base the new stained glass window design on these drawings. Once the design is agreed upon the stained glass window will be made. There is always an edge of the unknown when working with children in a 'design and make' stained glass window art project. It is impossible to know what the outcome will be when young people put their imagination to good use and apply it to something new. The stained glass windows have always been very different and show excellent use of colour and form. The experience has always been totally rewarding for the students, teachers and the artist Andrew Seddon.
